Ellanse Treatments in Belfast, Ireland

How Does Ellansé Work?

The effects of Ellansé are immediate and gradually stimulate collagen and elastin providing long-lasting natural results. It is a simple and straight forward treatment with minimal downtime.

What is Ellansé Made Of?

Unlike most fillers that are made of hyaluronic acid, Ellansé is made of Poly-Caprolactone (PCI) and is a well-known totally bioresorbable soft medical polymer. It works to volumise specific areas of the face to immediately volumise, but gradually over three months post treatment it continues to stimulate the body’s own collagen and elastin. This results in further skin improvement over this time and as the product is broken down by the body the only thing left is your own collagen and elastin. This results in a long-lasting treatment.

Is Ellansé Permanent?

Ellansé gives a natural and longer lasting, but non-permanent result.   Ellansé has been used in oral and maxilla-facial surgery for several decades. Once all the gel carrier has been broken down by the body, all that is left is your own collagen and elastin.

How Long Does Ellansé Last?

In clinic we offer Ellansé that lasts for one and two years.

Ellansé is officially approved by MHRA in the U.K. and the FDA in the USA for the correction of the signs of facial fat loss and for treating facial lines and wrinkles.

How Long Does the Treatment Take?

We set aside an hour for the treatment. This allows for enough time to further discuss the treatment (we would recommend a consultation prior to the treatment), time for anaesthetic to take full effect, and for the treatment itself.

Will the Treatment Hurt?

Dr McCoubrey uses medical grade topical anaesthetic cream prior to treatment. This is very effective. In addition to this Lidocaine can also be added into the product itself which further increases comfort during the treatment.

There is no pain with this treatment a Dr McCoubrey takes all precautions for patient comfort.

Is There any Downtime?

With all treatments there is a slight chance of bruising and slight swelling. Dr McCoubrey takes all precautions to avoid these any there should be no or very little downtime following the treatment.
